5w30 and 10w30 in my 8.1 big block burned 1 quart per thousand miles. Switched to 15w40 and consumption went down to 1 quart per 2500 miles.

Talking about people being disgusting, sold new cars for three years and a smoker turned in a leased Chevrolet S10 and re-leased another. This two year old reg. cab truck had a brown tint over all the windows and upholstery. After the new deal was done, driving this nicotine tainted vehicle from the front of the dealership to the back made me physically ill, as I am not and have never been a smoker.

Bought a CPO BMW. They changed the oil as part of the CPO service. First oil change after purchase I did myself. Drain plug was stripped. I had a copy of the service records from the dealer. Every oil change was part of BMW maintenance package meaning the dealer stripped it. Thank god for Timeserts.

You need to get out more! Road signs have been used for target practice since the first road sign was put up. In all seriousness ive lived in wv for 20 years now and more often than not road signs are used in this fashion.

Like my GMC truck calls for 5w30, but it now has over 200,000 miles. I put 10w30 and oil consumption dropped from 1 qt per week to 1 quart per month. I installed 10w40 and 2 months, we have not added any oil. There are other things that cause oil consumption like clogged PCV hole in valve cover on this engine, but the 10w40 seems to have fixed the oil consumption problem. It does not leak a drop, very clean truck.

I guarantee the other shop refused to fix their own bad work and told the guy to go back to whoever replaced his cats before. I just had a Highlander brought in by one of our regular customers who got stuck in south Austin with a coolant leak. It was going to cost them $400 to have it towed to us so they went ahead and had it "repaired" where it was. So now we've got it, it has a new water pump but it's missing about 25% of the bolts and both of the engine mount support brackets plus it has a massive radiator leak. Luckily they didn't blow a head gasket driving it home and then to us. So some customers do get screwed by other shops and hope you can fix what the other place did wrong but some customers just piss off every shop in the area and nobody will even look at their vehicle. It's a tough business but most customers are nice and just want their vehicle fixed.

Right after you change your oil you can detect differences in sound and vibration in your engine. Clean oil makes a big difference. This is not imaginary. 😅😅😅
